Charles Fréger (France, 1975) works on photographic representation of contemporary social groups. His series are mainly made up of individual portraits: whether he photographs sportsmen, soldiers, dancers or students, his models wear a uniform, a costume or a disguise. Beyond the unity of the group emerges what remains of the individual.
His series Cimarrón illustrates the many manifestations of African culture in North, Central and South America, including Mexico.
